New Southeast Asian role for Metalube chemist
PUBLISHED: 05 Jun 13
Mohd Shahrin Abu Bakar
Leading wire and tube drawing lubricant specialist, Metalube, has appointed Mohd Shahrin Abu Bakar (Shahrin) as Technical Sales Engineer for Southeast Asia.
Shahrin, however, is no newcomer to Metalube, from January 2010 to January 2013 he was a Development Chemist in the company’s Manchester, UK Laboratory.
Commenting on the appointment, David Lee, Managing Director says: "Shahrin was a key member of our Manchester team and an excellent chemist so we were of course very disappointed when he decided to return home, with his family, to Malaysia. However, Southeast Asia is a key market for Metalube, so it is great news for us that we are able to have someone with so much experience and product knowledge working directly in the market."
In his new position Shahrin will provide technical and sales support throughout the whole of Southeast Asia to Metalube’s local agent, Meltech Resources.
A graduate in Master of Engineering (M.Eng) Chemical Engineering from The University of Manchester in 2009, Shahrin became an Associate Member of Institute of Chemical Engineers (AMIChemE) in 2011. He was also awarded The International Wire and Machinery (IWMA) John C Hogg Travel Award to Wire Dusseldorf 2012.
Shahrin will join his Metalube colleagues on their stand B28 at Wire Southeast ASIA in Bangkok from 17th - 19th September 2013.
