A market report shows that the economic situation for the wire and cable industry in North America and Mexico is promising. David Smith, Vice President Operations´┐Żof the Texas-based Encore Wire Corporation, explains in an interview the main reasons of this company's success: Encore Wire was founded over 25 years ago with only a few employees and has become one of the leading manufacturers of building wire in North America with about 1,500 people.

In the company profile, LLC Tatcable is introduced, one of the five largest cable plants in the Russian Federation in terms of production output. The company founded only in 2009 is headed by Victor V. Miller and made the headlines in August 2014 with the successful production of a 330 kV power cable.

A further prospering company is the aluminum wire manufacturer Gutmann Aluminium Draht (GAD) GmbH, Germany, which has been operating a completely new factory since July 2014. Paul Habbel, CEO of GAD, explains the philosophy behind the factory's architecture and the cross linking between the architecture, a highly motivated staff and a successful business.

The NIEHOFF Magazine staff is also proud on an interview with Dr. Klaus Probst, CEO & President of the cables and cable systems manufacture Leoni AG, Germany, who will retire in the midth of 2015 after 25 years with the company. In this period of time, Leoni has become one of the top ten international cable manufacturers according to the most recent Integer Research ranking and is going to build Europe's most modern cable factory near the company's headquarters in Nuremberg. It's also worth mentioning that GAD, Leoni and Niehoff are all based in the same region in Southern Germany where wire manufacturing has a tradition originating in the Middle Ages.

As an example of Niehoff's current activities in the field of technology, the MSM 86 rod breakdown concept is described. News in brief conclude the information offer of this issue.
